David I. Williams, 75, a wonderful man took his final journey home on May 13, 2017. He was born October 4, 1941 in Hinton WV to Reno and Wanda Williams. A 1959 graduate from Hinton High School he retired from the Air Force with 22 years of service, worked 15 years with US Post Office as a Letter Carrier and Supervisor. David graduated from OSU in 2004, worked for OSU/COTC Newark running the tutoring center, cowrote the program the school uses for tutoring. David I. Williams, 75, a wonderful man took his final journey home on May 13, 2017. He was born October 4, 1941 in Hinton WV to Reno and Wanda Williams. A 1959 graduate from Hinton High School he retired from the Air Force with 22 years of service, worked 15 years with US Post Office as a Letter Carrier and Supervisor. David graduated from OSU in 2004, worked for OSU/COTC Newark running the tutoring center, cowrote the program the school uses for tutoring. He was awarded the Diane J Goldsmith award for excellence in tutoring in 2013. David was a Shriner, 32nd Degree Mason, York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Eastern Star. He was a member of Grand Forks ND, Acacia Lodge #4, and a member of the Drum & Bugle Corp. He retired from OSU in 2014 after his health started to decline.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra S. Williams, daughter, Sherri (Jim) Wagner all of Johnstown, honorary daughter, Missy Fuller, granddaughter, Dayna Wagner; nephews, Freddie, Andy Williams and many more nieces and nephews; cousins, Mary Francis, Nancy, Doreen, and Marilyn; many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James F. Williams Sr., grandparents, A.W. and Mary Murrell, Ralph and Verna Williams, Aunt Pauline O'Connor.

Friends may call 4 to 6 pm Thursday at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Thursday at funeral home with Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating, American Legion and Masonic Lodge conducting services. Private burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers are Jim Wagner, Brayden Buoni, Andy Williams, Kevin McKinney, Todd Snyder and Freddie Williams Jr.
